Changes

Upgrade to 12.1.0.9.0

Cause

Missing rpm: orclovn-user for OVM component on Dom0. Without the required rpms, installation is expected to fail.

Node1 Dom0:

[root@abc0 etc]# oakcli show env_hw

[root@acesb0 etc]# cat /etc/oracle-release
Oracle VM Server release 5.7
[root@abc0 etc]# rpm -qa | grep -i orcl
[root@abc0 etc]#

Solution

Install the missing rpm orclovn-user on dom0 using yuminstall or download from the repo http://public-yum.oracle.com.

Post installation of the rpm, reboot the node, cleanup the node and re-try patching

# reboot
# oakcli update -patch 12.1.2.9 --clean
# oakcli update -patch 12.1.2.9.0 --server -local
