Symptoms

ODA database related oakcli commands are hanging forever.

"oakcli show dbhomes" and oakcli show databases -detail

Ctrl+D shows the following message:
[root@~]# oakcli show dbhomes
LsInventorySession failed: null
LsInventorySession failed: null
LsInventorySession failed: null

Changes

none

Cause

Group setting were changed for the following directories.

/u01/app/oracle

/u01/app/grid

/u01/app/oraInventory

/u01/app/12.1.0.2

Solution

Make sure the group's and group permissions are correct on the following folders:

cd /u01/app

ls -ltr

drwxr-xr-x 3 root oinstall 4096 Dec 23 18:45 12.1.0.2
drwxr-xr-x 8 oracle oinstall 4096 Dec 23 19:08 grid
drwxr-xr-x 10 oracle oinstall 4096 Dec 23 19:37 oracle
drwxrwx--- 5 oracle oinstall 4096 Jan 20 19:19 oraInventory

Retry the commands.
