SymptomsOlder Versions of Tload on Linux can Corrupt the Firmware File CauseThe customer can get a failure while upgrading the firmware on their IBM LTO, HP LTO, or STK T10000 tape drives. While running the tload command the customer should use the "-v" option for verbose mode and in that verbose output they will see a "file corrupt" error. SolutionThe customer should download a firmware code patch file from MOS for either the HP LTO, IBM LTO, or STK T10000 tape drive that was released after February, 2017 since those patches will have a version of Tload that will fix the firmware file corruption issue. The customer can also ask the Oracle Tape Support representative that owns their SR for the latest version of the Tload utility and they can attach it to the SR for the customer to download it. The customer should then delete the firmware file that they used when Tload failed. These older versions of Tload did actually corrupt the firmware file. Once it is deleted the customer should then get and use the firmware file from the code patch that they downloaded from MOS for their tape drives. Then they should try the code load again on their drives. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
