Symptoms

On running the exachk utility on X3-4 Exalytics server ,it is showing the below error:

 


[root@exalytics1.mydomain-node01 exachk]# ./exachk
This computer is for [S]ingle instance database or part of a [C]luster to run RAC database [S|C] [C]:

As this is an exalytics server with BI and EPM along with times ten installed .So why it is asking for the above database instance .
Even giving the prompt as S or C it is getting exited with below result.

exachk is supported only on Oracle Engineered systems.Please run orachk.

exachk is exiting...

Cause

Cause of this issue has been identified and verified as:

  • <BUG:25440267 >" target="_blank">25440267>> - EXALYTICS PS5 : GETTING ERROR WHILE RUNNING THE EXACHK UTILITY 

EXACHK did not identify this system as Exalytics because following command returns no output.

Solution

To fix this error,manually set the system_identifier in ILOM as Oracle Exalytics Machine Serial Number.

One can set it using the command prompt by going in the /System and set it. After setting this, restart the ILOM and then check if the value is getting returned or not.

Once the value is returned then execute the exachk.
