The upgrade process needs to run twice to finish it. The first check will be a pre-run and second one updates the firmware.
The product notes provide known problems regarding the IB switch firmware upgrade. These notes pertain to the 2.1.8-1 firmware for the gateway. The same checklist document is applicable to 2.2.2.7.
