Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 2211652.1 : Alarms TKPIC02082 And 02083 Are Not Clearing And Are Reporting On Incorrect Usage Values
Understand How the SLOR alarms are managed to avoid misunderstanding In this Document
Created from <SR 3-13504055010> Applies to:Oracle Communications Performance Intelligence Center (PIC) Software - Version 9.0.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsThe Low threshold and high threshold alarms for SLOR (Signaling Link Occupancy Rate) is not always well understood. Example: SLOR thresholds have been set as follows: Low threshold at 40%, High threshold at 80%. The user may think that the system should generate an alarm when the Occupancy rate falls under 40 % or overpass 80 %. But this is wrong... Changes
CauseLow and High threshold alarm will be triggered when the occupancy will overpass the value set. When "Low" threshold value is overpass, PIC generates a "Minor" alarm. When "High" threshold value is overpass, PIC generates a "Major" alarm. HoldOn value avoid PIC to clear/generate useless flow of alarms if the difference is lower than the indicated percentage: when a threshold is reached, PIC generates an alarm. This alarm will be cleared only when the SLOR will have the value: Threshold - HoldOn (e.g. Low =40%, and HoldOn=10%, alarm will be cleared when the traffic will be under 30%). SolutionSet correctly the various thresholds and the HoldOn value to manage easily and correctly such alarms. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
