Symptoms

Customer saw the following errors after an ILOM/BIOS upgrade to SW1.7.6 (ILOM 3.1.2.52_r109596, BIOS 08.14.01.11) on both 7320 nodes of a cluster:

Fault detected at time = Sun Nov 20 06:41:21 2016. The suspect component: /SYS/SP has fault.chassis.device.misconfig with probability=100.

The faults repeated several times for about 45 minutes on both nodes, clearing themselves each time, then ceased and did not return.

Changes

ILOM/BIOS was upgraded from a 3.0.x version to the version listed above.

Cause

It was determined that security scanning software on the customer's network was running during the time listed for the SP fault.

Solution

Customer disabled the security scanning software for the related service processor IP addresses and the faults did not return.
