FSC: 5530 AUDIT_FSC_REEL_VELOCITY_DIFF_LIMIT_EXCEEDED

The velocity difference between the two reels exceeded limits defined by the software indicating poor tape tension control.

Solution

The metal ring (washer) on the bottom of T10000A/B (T1) media can come lose from the media and stay on the T10000A/B/C/D drive hub. (which has a magnet on it)

When this happens any further tapes that are loaded on the drive will not have a good contact with the gear sprocket and can fail with 5530 errors or other servo reel velocity related errors.

When this happens a tape is now missing the ring on the bottom when it is unloaded. This tape may or may not fail on future mounts possibly with a 5530 error.

Tape will not load.
Tape will not mount.

If you find a tape that is missing the metal ring, the tape drive hubs should be check to that the missing metal ring can be found.
