Symptoms

In Exalogic X5-2 racks in Virtual configuration EMOC reports warning message due to overheating on PCIe slot1/2 (/SYS/MB/T_OUT_SLOT1/2) whilst a lower temperature ambient.

Following is screenshot which shows EMOC reporting high temperature issue.

From ILOM Snapshot, we can see temperature value.

less fma/@persist@faultdiags@ereports.log

[unrecognized]
detector = /SYS/MB/T_OUT_SLOT2
hidden = false
reading = 59.75
threshold = 60

NOTE:

If actual temperature is around threshold 60, warning message will be thrown from EMOC. In case actual temperature is higher than threshold 65, systems may power off to protect themselves.
