Symptoms

ODA virtualized deployment to ODA_BASE VM fails at step 17 GIConfigAssists, the following error was seen in log file

[root@oda101 tmp]# pwd
/opt/oracle/oak/onecmd/tmp
[root@oda101 tmp]# tail STEPS-0-24-20161103211308.log
INFO : Running as root: /usr/bin/ssh -l root oda101 /opt/oracle/oak/onecmd/tmp/DoAllcmds-20161103220822.sh
INFO : Running as root: /usr/bin/ssh -l root oda102 /opt/oracle/oak/onecmd/tmp/DoAllcmds-20161103220822.sh
ERROR : Ran '/usr/bin/ssh -l root oda101 /opt/oracle/oak/onecmd/tmp/DoAllcmds-20161103220822.sh' and it returned code(1) and output is:
CRS-9013-Error manage: Invalid data received from the Cluster Logger Service

INFO : Background process 27092 (node: oda102) gets done with the exit code 0
INFO : Background process 27072 (node: oda101) gets done with the exit code 1
ERROR : Failure in copying /opt/oracle/oak/onecmd/tmp/DoAllcmds-20161103220822.sh to DB nodes and executing it as root in parallel
INFO : Time in GIConfigAssists is 650 seconds.
Exiting...

Changes

While running the ODA_BASE deployment, the Oracle Appliance Manger version 12.1.2.8.0 errors out at step 17

Cause

The issue has been identified as Bug 23304537.

Solution

Please manually complete the remaining tasks in Step 17 and continue with Step 18.

[1] Run manually the following

  1) /u01/app/12.1.0.2/grid/bin/oclumon manage -repos changerepossize 3895 (on both nodes)
  2) Setting ASM cardinality to all ==> srvctl modify asm -count all (on both nodes)
  3) sed -i 's/CRS_LIMIT_OPENFILE=.*/CRS_LIMIT_OPENFILE=65536/' /etc/rc3.d/S96ohasd

then

check the steps run GridInst.pl -l

[2] Run only step 17

GridInst.pl -r 17

[3] Then if 17 is sucessful run from 18 to 24

GridInst.pl -r 18-24
