StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

This document assists with an issue where the SL150 fails to initialize after a robot replacement, with IBM LTO7 drives installed.

Changes

Robot replaced with down level code.

Cause

The SL150 2.60 code is required to support IBM LTO7 drives.  If a customer has only IBM LTO7 drives in their SL150 library and the robot is replaced the new robot might come in with an older firmware on it and this will cause the SL150 initialization to fail.

Solution

If the customer has a LTO6 or lower drive also installed in their library then the initialization will be successful and then the customer will need to upgrade the code to 2.60 so that their IBM LTO7 drives will be supported.

If the customer only has IBM LTO7 drives installed in their library then the Oracle support TSC engineer will need to send a P/N 7333965 or later on it since that P/N will have 2.60 or higher code on it.
