Symptoms

Several servers are not starting correctly and not reachable and they display the message:

"Bringing up interface bond0:
Determining IP information for bond0... ">

without response (not booting beyond).

Even reboot of the servers and the switches does not change anything. Moreover, rebooting a server that does not encounter the issue in the subsystem, will sometimes put it also in the same stuck situation.

Changes

Cause

PM&C/PMAC is not managing correctly IP of servers (DHCP issue).

Solution

Restart the PM&C server and double check after restart has been completed whether the various servers are able to reboot correctly and are reachable thru SSH or not.
