Bug 24598707

Symptoms

When trying to use the OID and MIB supplied by oracle, an error message is displayed:

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.1211.4.6.1.3 = No such object available on this agent at this OID

Command used to query: snmpget -c public -v 2c f-library02.capes.gov.br .1.3.6.1.4.1.1211.4.6.1.3.

Need directions on how to apply it.

Changes

Cause

 OID is not valid.

Solution

Checked the MIB that we supply and it is the correct one. This is believed to be operator error. The OID is not something recognized and it doesn't work.
First they need to make sure that the downloaded MIB, STREAMLINE-TAPE-LIBRARY-MIB.txt, is in the /usr/share/snmp/mibs directory and in the command line specify -m+STREAMLINE-TAPE-LIBRARY-MIB.

Example of a command that will work:
@ .
@ snmpget -v2c -c public -m+STREAMLINE-TAPE-LIBRARY-MIB <library name>
@ slCapSize.1
@ .
@ This returns the size of the mail slot.
