Sun StorageTek SL8500 Modular Library System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

No "enter" or "eject" requests showing in cmd_proc. Tapes are populating the CAP. CAP remains locked on the SL8500/SLC and offline to ACSLS.

Symptoms

CAP locked after entering tapes. The robot did not enter tapes into Library.

Changes

The reserver noted in SLConsole under CAP details showed "default".

Cause

CAP Reserver changed from "HLIx"(ACSLS control) to "Default" (SL8500 control).

Solution

CAP was unlocked via the SLC and emptied manually. CAP was closed and then locked automatically showing the reserver status as false/none in SLC CAP details. CAP was offlined/onlined in SLC. Corrected the CAP status in cmd_proc by varying the CAP off force and online again. Set the CAP mode to automatic. The SLC CAP details showed CAP reserver as hli0.
