Applies to:

Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) - Version DSR 6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Customer is getting the 10104 event on NOAM.

Cause

The customer external export server was having disk issues and was consequently not accessible from the DSR servers.

In the rsync logs from the active NOAM, we can clearly see the following error entries showing that the NOAM is not able to connect to the export server:

1471381682.547552057: 24520: root: ++ /usr/bin/rsync -vrt -e 'ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -o UserKnownHostsFile=/dev/null' --timeout=360 --rsync-path=/usr/bin/rsync /var/TKLC/db/filemgmt/export/.xfer/ tekelec@12.1.2.12:/export/dsr/
1471381682.547552057: 24520: root: Warning: Permanently added '12.1.2.12' (RSA) to the list of known hosts.
1471381682.547552057: 24520: root: Permission denied, please try again.
1471381682.547552057: 24520: root: Permission denied, please try again.
1471381682.547552057: 24520: root: Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic,password).
1471381682.547552057: 24520: root: rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes received so far) [sender]
1471381682.547552057: 24520: root: rsync error: unexplained error (code 255) at io.c(600) [sender=3.0.6]

Solution

  1. Customer to recover the export server.
  2. Once done, re-initiate the key exchange by following the below procedure:
    1. Go to the "Main Menu -> Administration -> Remote Servers -> Data Export"
    2. On the bottom of this page, click on "SSH Key Exchange" button. You will be asked to enter the tekelec user password. Enter the password and click on "OK".
    3. Once done, you can either wait until the next transfer is launched or you can test the transfer using the "Test Transfer" button located in the bottom of the export server menu.

For more details about this procedure, you can consult the OAM user guide: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E60617_01/docs.601/E53463_rev_01.pdf (page 70)
