Applies to:

Oracle Communications Performance Intelligence Center (PIC) Software - Version 10.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After 10.2 Upgrade on PMF server...apply changes cannot be performed.

Failed_to_connect_to_master_database

Cause

Newly upgraded PMF server cannot remotely connect to the nsp database via sqlplus /@NSP as cfguser

sqlplus /@NSP connection does not work because the nsp_oracle alias is not present in the /etc/hosts file

or

the step to "Sync Database Credentials" was missed

Solution

In the first case:

Add, via platcfg, the nsp_oracle alias pointing to the NSP oracle ip.

In some case you may have to restart also the xMF application in order the change take effect.

prod stop/start as cfguser

In the second case:

Apply the procedure described in the maintenance guide

# su – tekelec
# cd /opt/nsp/scripts/oracle/cmd/
# sh syncFiles.sh
Or
# sh syncFiles.sh <IP1>
Or
# sh syncFiles.sh <IP1> <IP2> ………… <IPn>
