Symptoms
New replacement HDA (Head Disk Assembly or just disk drive) ready LED will not light even though the drive passed diagnostics and the GFR (Guided FRU Replacment) was successful.
Changes
Failed 73GB HDA has been replaced with a Hitachi HDA replacement - part number 7064916.
Cause
Replacement disk is a Hitachi 73GB disk drive. The ready LED on these drives will not light in the VSM4.
Solution
Ignore the fact that the replacement drive LED will not light. The drive is otherwise expected to work just fine.
