Symptoms

Attempting to upgrade an existing Exalytics X4-4 server to Release 2.0.0.0.0 by following the steps in the Installation Guide.  After booting the machine with the CD ROM and after passing a couple of screens, installation gets stuck and reports error:

"No Driver Found"

Cause

Upgrade attempt.

Solution

You may workaround this error by proceeding with the installation as described below.

Reboot from the image, but when the installer comes up with "boot:" type the following command:

linux all-generic-ide irqpoll pci=nommconf

Press enter and the installation can than be completed.
