Applies to:

Oracle Communications EAGLE (Software) - Version EPAP 16.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Observed that the PDBA software was constantly restarting.

Cause

It seems that the root cause of the issue with the pdba software actually was triggered by the restart of the EPAP software following the automatic RTDB backup. When exinit attempts to restart the EPAP software, it checks for any defunct process and it checks that all processes restarted. If the conditions are not as expected, exinit is restarted. This causes all the application software, including the PDBA, to restart. This is why you see the exinit process being killed in the messages file. This should all occur without adverse effect to the system, however, on 7/20, the PDBA software did not initiate cleanly and kept restarting. There is not a clear indication of why the PDBA software did not initiate correctly.

Solution

Stopped and restarted the software to resolve
