CauseThe SL150 magazines will not fully close or latch if there is something that is obstructing the magazine from being pushed all of the way in. SolutionTo fix this you will need to find what is obstructing the SL150 magazine by taking the magazine out and checking the back of the magazine to make sure there is not any damage and also to look back into the magazine sensor and bracket to see if they are out of position or if something is blocking the magazine from reaching them. An issue that we have seen cause this was the bracket for the magazine sensor working upward a little which caused the top of the "T" on the back of the magazine to hit the magazine sensor. The bottom of this "T" on the back of the magazine is supposed to slide into the magazine sensor and flag the sensor so that the SL150 knows that the magazine is closed. If the top of the "T" on the back of the magazine hits the magazine sensor, the magazine won't slide back in far enough so that the the magazine will not latch nor will the magazine sensor be flagged. Below are some pictures of the back of the magazine and then a good picture of how the magazine sensor and bracket are supposed to look and then a picture of the bad magazine sensor bracket that we found at a site. If you find that the magazine sensor bracket is bad or broken then the chassis for that module in the SL150 will need to be replaced. "T" on the back of the magazine: A good magazine sensor bracket with no gap between the magazine sensor bracket and the sheet metal of the SL150 chassis: A bad magazine sensor bracket with a gap between the magazine sensor bracket and the sheet metal of the SL150 chassis:
Note: A process was implemented into manufacturing in late 2016 to fix this issue so any Base or Expansion chassis built from 2017 on should not see this issue. We have seen a KLE (Expansion Controller) card cause this issue. So if nothing is found in the above troubleshooting steps then dispatch out a KLE card for the customer to replace.
