Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 2163157.1 : MaxRep: Executing the MRCLI utility may generate an exception error

SymptomsWhen executing the MaxRep Command Line Interface (MRCLI) utility using a command such as the following: mrcli -u admin -m <MaxRep Engine IP> getProtectionPlans -x stdout
You may see an exception error that states the following: An exception was caught in the default exception handler: Command execution cannot be proceeded. Please refer Oracle Support for help.
CauseThe cause can be found in the mrcli_client.log file, by default the log file is located under the home folder on the host.
Viewing the mrcli_client.log file you may see the following error message: 2016/07/14 15:53:07> Info : main::104::_ _ _ _ _ _ _ COMMAND STARTED _ _ _ _ _ _ _

SolutionThe host that is executing the MRCLI utility must be setup to resolve both forward and reverse DNS lookups for the MaxRep Engine. Otherwise it will fail with the error message.
