Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System Customer is unable to de-select CAP Assignment from either partition.

CAP Assignment issue.

Cause

There is the possibility of a bug in the code which allows the customer to select both CAP's in the CAP Assignment screen.

Solution

Via SLConsole:

Go to the Partition screen, go to Design ( Step 3b ).

Select one of the partitions and Select by Cell from the drop down, click on the Remove radial button.

Click on the top cell for the CAP and all of the CAP cells should go into selected status.

Click on Verify on the top right of the screen.

Once your selection is verified, click on the Commit tab ( Step 4 ) and click on Apply.

The CAP should then be un-allocated to the SCSI partition.

Go back to the CAP Assignment screen and the check box for that given partition should now be unselected.

Now you should be able to go back and add the CAP back to the SCSI partition to the one that you removed it from earlier.

The customer should now be able to select and un-select which partition they wish to use the CAP for.

Note: Remember it is not supported for the customer to have both CAP's selected to both partitions at one time.
