Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 2159605.1 : Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance: A Snapshot Created On A Replicated Package Is Silently Deleted
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-12945375311> Applies to:Sun ZFS Storage 7420 - Version All Versions and laterOracle ZFS Storage ZS3-2 - Version All Versions and later Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-4 - Version All Versions and later Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-BA - Version All Versions and later Oracle ZFS Storage ZS4-4 - Version All Versions and later 7000 Appliance OS (Fishworks) SymptomsA user snapshot of a replica package created on the replication target appliance is silently deleted.
CauseThis is part of the replication process and is working as expected. Any change made to a replication package on the target appliance will be rolled back as part of the next replication update. This includes snapshots.
SolutionDo not create snapshots of replication packages directly on the target. Snapshots should be created on the source appliance and allowed to replicate over. Creating replica snapshots on the target via the BUI fails. The possibility of creating them via CLI will be removed in an upcoming release.
To make backups of replicated projects or shares without cloning, use the NDMP replica backup feature available as of 2013.1.4.1. See online help under Shares -> Replication -> How to Perform a Replica Backup References<BUG:20139450> - CLI SHOULD PREVENT CREATION OF A SNAPSHOT IN REPLICATION PACKAGEAttachments This solution has no attachment |
