Symptoms

E-5MS Alarm monitoring application is not working

Expected Behavior:
E5MS should perform alarm monitoring for Eagle STPs

Impact:
No traffic impact. Customer cannot monitor Eagle alarms via E5MS.

Cause

directories /Tekelec/WebNMS/ have been deleted except for /Tekelec/WebNMS/reportingstudio and /Tekelec/WebNMS/apache.
RPM for E5-MS has not been removed.
 
When trying to check status of E5MS; error is reported. This proves that the E5MS application is corrupted.

[root@DelhiE5MS tmp]# service e5msService status
sed: can't read /Tekelec/WebNMS/conf/tekelec/common.config: No such file or directory
E5-MS server is not started!

 

Solution

1. Remove E5-MS application
2. Install RPM as given in customer documentation Install Upgrade Guide:

3. Restore DB from backup data as mentioned in backup/restore procedure of Install-Upgrade Guide
