Following alarm is observed:

0451 ** CARD 2315 SCCPHC RTDB reload is required

Only 1 SCCP card out of 23 cards has alarm "RTDB reload is required"

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to STP
2. Run Rept-stat-trbl:display=timestamp
3. In command output; there should be an alarm: 0451 - RTDB reload required

BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has no business impact. There are 23 SCCP cards in the system and one card requiring reload may not cause any issue.

Cause

Issue is caused when the DSM card cannot communicate with the EPAP
Cause of this can be:
a struck ethernet port
a faulty port
a fault cable (or cable not connected properly)
a faulty card

RTDB reload is required by an SCCP card when it starts to lag behind while updating the local RTDB from far end EPAP (APP-B in this case). If this is happening for less number of cards (e.g. only one in this case); it can be due to two issues:
1. A failing SCCP card Hardware (i.e. although card’s power circuitry is up; but its processing/storage capabilities have started to deteriorate).
2. There is a communication problem between the card and the EPAP (APP-B card in this case). This can be due to multiple issues which include:
  a. A stuck Ethernet port
  b. An issue with card
  c. A problem with the physical cable connected to card.

Solution

1. Reboot the problematic card and see if its IP links come up and it comes back as IS-NR
2. If card condition remains the same; then replace the IP port on the Hub for the problematic card and see if the IP link on cards come up
3. Replace the card with a spare and then initialize the card.
