Information in this document applies to any platform.

The firmware is up to date but the drives still getting ports disable.
The customer replaced the Gbic of the switch and the problem still there.
The Switchs are Cisco MDS 9124 Model DS-C9124-K9 (Firmware 5.1).

Symptoms

 RC 9028 And 9029 (DRIVE_ALL_PORTS_DISABLED)

Cause

 Possible defective switch.

Solution

Customer replaced the switch with another model and the errors disappeared.
