Cause

It happens when you don’t have a ‘root’ user (local and at Solaris level, especially when the customer is running S11).
One way to verify this would be to set the ‘com.sun.xvm.services.alarm.impl' filter (-i oem-ec) and re-run the task:

If you see an error like the following in the logs, then not having a root user is the cause (We already have bugs for this)
com.sun.xvm.services.alarm.impl.AlarmManager getAlarmIDsWithReadPermission
FINEST: thr#478117:”XXXXXXX_SatelliteTarget->EC"
Filtering alarm XXXX as user root has no read permission on com.sun.hss.domain:name=NORM-XXXX,type=XXXX

Solution

Create a local user "root" in Opscenter and provide all admin privileges
