Symptoms

After PCA (Policy & Charging Application) activation on a system having a DR NOAM (Disaster Recovery Network Operation, Administration & Maintenance), it's been observed that the feature was not deployed on Active DR NOAM server.

Changes

Activation of the PCA feature (Section 7.1 from E58667 Revision 02 document).

Cause

This issue is related to bug 20602066 which is definitively fixed in DSR 7.1 release. In fact, the PCA activation scripts assume there is only one active NOAM in the entire network. Consequently, it does not handle the active DR NOAM and the PCA will not be activated on this server. The "Policy and Charging" menu will not be visible on the Active DR NOAM GUI.

The /var/TKLC/log/pcaActivationTopLevel.log shows that the active DR NOAM did not get the feature:

Solution

Run load.pcaActivationTopLevel script on the impacted active DR NOAM. Make sure the impacted DR NOAM server is still Active one in the configuration. If not, move it to Active:

Connect to the Active DR NOAM server as admusr using the XMI IP.
Go to the activation script folder:
$ cd /usr/TKLC/dsr/prod/maint/loaders/activate
Run the PCA activation script:
$ ./load.pcaActivationTopLevel
Connect to the Active DR NOAM GUI and verify that the "Policy and Charging" menu is now present.
