Symptoms

The server is not able to power on

Changes

No recent changes made on this server

Cause

Ilom snapshot was not availble , but we can see some things from the ilom logs

Also the System firmware is very old, and running the initial release.

Solution

The action plan provided to the customer is the following:

 

1) To upgrade System firmware to latest version (in our case patch id 151689-03 )

2) Clean the warning from the ILOM faultmgmt shell

-> start /SP/faultmgmt/shell
Are you sure you want to start /SP/faultmgmt/shell (y/n) ? y
faultmgmtsp>

faultmgmtsp>fmadm repair 6f6b149a-2206-c967-ebd4-a3c52be6bed0d910

faultmgmtsp> exit
->

3) Power on  the server (start /SYS -f) and try to boot (ok> boot)

 

After this steps, the server is able to boot Solaris and work normally.
