Symptoms

PSU marked faulty in BUI and CLI even thought it appears ok on physical inspection

Reseating the PSU did not clear the error.

Changes

 after a power outage

Cause

The NAS has FMA cached and 'retire store' entries for the PSU card and this was not automatically cleared.

Solution

Recommended action for the customer:

To remove the cached FMA entry and any 'retire store' entry for the Power Supply Unit, you will need to engage Oracle Support, by opening a Service Request, so that Oracle Support Services can provide confirmation of this issue and then carry out the appropriate activities to resolve the issue.

Recommended actions for the Oracle Support engineer:

Remove the cached FMA entry and any 'retire store' entry - see the following wiki document:

https://stbeehive.oracle.com/teamcollab/wiki/AmberRoadSupport:Solaris+shell+procedure+to+remove+cached+FMA+entry+for+PCIe+card+still+marked+as+faulty+after+replacement

this document has the procedure even if its marked as a HBA  it works for the PSU as well

If you cannot access this document engage NAS Storage-TSC for assistance
