Symptoms

FUSE Panel alarm not getting at STP when feed A is turned off from CF00 Control Frame in Eagle STP

Not getting power alarm at Eagle STP when feed A is turned off from CF00.

ERROR
-----------------------
Turned off feed A for CF00 i.e. 11xx but no alarm were seen on system in "rept-stat-trbl" also on the terminal logs with sys=yes.
Physical alarm LED in CF00 also stayed green.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Remove Feed A of CF00.
2. check if the UAM 0082 has appeared for 11xx.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot get UAM 0082 if in real situation the feed A is no more available for the system.

Cause

There is a faulty Fuse and Alarm Panel (FAP) on CF00. This FAP needs to be replaced.

The fact being the Power LED stays green regardless of power feed to A and absence of UAM "0082" indicates faulty FAP on CF00.

Solution

01. Identify the test points on FAP of CF00 (11xx). Kindly look at following diagram to identify the FAP positive and return point:
Eagle Customer Documentation >> Hardware Reference Release 46.1 E58716 Revision 1 >> Figure 65: Fuse and Alarm Panel Rear (P/N870-2804-01).
>> Figure 54: Fuse and Alarm Panel Rear (P/N870-2804-01). Page 121
02. Use the Voltmeter set at DC Volts to check the input voltage on Feed A of CF00 at the points determined in step 1. (Voltage reading should be around -48Volts DC)
03. Turn Off Feed A for CF00 (11xx).
04. Use the Voltmeter set at DC Volts to check the input voltage on Feed A of CF00 at the points determined in step 1. (Voltage reading should be 0 Volts DC)
05. If voltage is still present; then physically remove the A feed from the FAP CF00 and see if the alarm is raised. At this point; the alarm should be raised which means that at the Far end; the correct FAP Feed is not being turned OFF.
06. There is a shorting board in this FAP in front. It should have a part number like: 870-2805-01. It has one LED in the middle. Confirm that this LED is NOT ON.
07. If shorting board LED is not ON; go to next steps.
08. Remove Power A connections from FAP of CF00. Check if LED of Power Feed A is turned OFF or if alarm 0082 appear on the system.
09. Checked that voltage is not coming on Feed A of CF00 via voltmeter. When Feed A is turned OFF the voltage becomes 0 volts which shows that the correct feed is being turned OFF.
10. Removed P1 Alarm cable from FAP.
11. Reconnect P1 Alarm Cable and check after switch off Feed A supply of CF00.
12. Re-seat MDAL card and check after switch off Feed A supply of CF00.
13. Perform MASP Switchover and check after switch off Feed A supply of CF00.
14. Replace MDAL card from the spare one and check after switch off Feed A supply of CF00.
15. If this does not resolve the situation; then the FAP is faulty. Raise Field Service task for replacement
