Applies to:

Oracle Communications Performance Intelligence Center (PIC) Software - Version 7.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In xDR, The WAY field is not the one expected when traffic is coming from STC card. It should be incoming if DPC=Eagle PC and outgoing if OPC=Eagle PC.

Cause

When STC copy is used, way is provided by Eagle.

Coding Indication in Eagle PDU:

  • 0x01 Transmitted by EAGLE
  • 0x02 Received by EAGLE

IMF sends this information to IXP with every PDU.

There is a LongParam in IMF to manage how this could be interpreted.

[cfguser@IMF-1A ~]$ iqt -p LongParam | grep -i dir
Yes InvertMsuDirForMfp 1 Before sending to ICP/IXP, invert MSU direction reported by Eagle. Default is to invert

By default value is inverted.

Solution

Change the InvertMsuDirForMfp 0 on all IMFs to swap way incoming/outgoing.
