Information in this document applies to any platform.
T5-2 : Disk LED's not operational : All the disks are working normal without any LED's.

Symptoms

This issue is specific to SPARC T5-2, the Disk on the SPARC T5-2 system are functioning  but the individual LED [ Green OK, Amber Service Required and Blue Ready to Remove ] on ALL of the disk are non functional.

T5-2 Disk LED

Cause

In this example the Disk BackPlane was encountering POST errors

Solution

STEP 1.] Power Down the Platform [ stop /SYS ]
STEP 2.] Physically reseat ALL the Drives
STEP 3.] Set Diag to max from ILOM [ set /HOST/diag level=max ]
STEP 4.] Power On the platform [ start /SYS ]
STEP 5.] After completing POST and if the LEDs are still not functional kindly run "fmadm faulty" ( ILOM or Solaris )
and verify if the following error is reported on /SYS/SASBP.

 STEP 6.] Open a new Oracle Service Request and Upload the latest snapshot

 

If the customer experiences the symptoms documented in this article, consider to replace the disk BackPlane [ /SYS/SASBP ]
