Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The Brick ES Module Fault LED is on; however, the Axiom Storage Services Manager client software displays no hardware fault for the specified Brick.

Changes

Cause

The Brick ES module is loose in its slot or faulted.

Solution

Reseat the ES Module

  1. Unscrew the screw that secures the ES module to the Brick chassis. A spring retains the screw in the module.

  2. Grasp the pull tab on the ES module and slide the module out of the chassis.

  3. Immediately replace the component to maintain proper airflow and cooling.

  4. Slide the ES module replacement into the Brick chassis until the module stops.

  5. Firmly push the ES module into place to engage it with the chassis midplane.

  6. Tighten the Phillips screw to secure the ES module to the chassis.

  7. Verify if the ES Module amber LED is off.

  8. If the ES Module amber LED is still on create a service request to arrange replacement of the ES Module.
