Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) - Version DSR 5.1 to DSR 6.0 [Release DSR 5.0 to DSR 6.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Connections between DSR sides failed to come up on their own and were recovered when are manually disabled/enabled.

The DSRs go through SCTP handshake but eventually send ABORTS from both sides

Cause

  • Connections are configured as "Initiator and Responder" mode at both ends
  • Same connect timer configured at both ends

Solution

Two possible workardound exist:

  1. Configure different connect timer at both sites
  2. Configure the connection such that one side as Initiator and another side as Responder mode.

This case is related to the bug:19107156 fixed in DSR 7.0.
