Created from <SR 3-12272771591> Applies to:Oracle Communications EAGLE (Hardware) - Version EAGLE 3x.x and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsUAM 0102 "Motherboard BIP invalid" seen in rept-stat-trbl and rept-stat-card CauseThe cause of the issue is invalid BIP data in card SolutionA card may need to be BIP'ed if A card will report Motherboard BIP invalid: > rept-stat-card:mode=full:loc=2207 STPCLLI 16-03-01 10:28:57 CET EAGLE5 44.0.4-64.34.24 Command Accepted - Processing Alarm can also been seen in rtrv-log: ****04-12-07 04:43:45****
To BIP a card you will need following: WARNING: DO NOT USE INIT=YES on those CARDS having MAC address. This can be verified by rtrv-bip command. Using INIT=YES will blow away the MAC address of the card.
Step 1 Run command rtrv-bip:loc=XXXX rtrv-bip:loc=2207 stpblfa 16-03-01 11:01:23 CET EAGLE5 44.0.4-64.34.24 Command Accepted - Processing Part Number: 870-1873-03 Software Match ID: EG - 001 Max Power Rating : Undef Note Part Number , Serial Number , Power Rating. Verify if card does have MAC address: In case of customer; share this information with Oracle TAC engineer who will provide you the BIP data. In case of Oracle TAC engineer; go to step 2. Step 2 1. Map Following Network Drive as Q Drive on Your system while on Oracle VPN: \\corp-filer.tekelec.com\s_common
Use your Tekelec Credentials to login to the Drive i.e. Username: tekelec\userid Password: Your Tekelec Password 2. Go to the DOS Command Prompt. 3. Go to the Q: drive (\\corp-filer.tekelec.com\s_common) and cd to /bin 3. Type: bip bid -pw 870-XXXX-XX Y 102NNNNNNNN PPP Y is the revision letter in capital This command will give you a data string that you will need to enter into the Eagle. To get the power rating 1st option : Find another good similar card and take the power rating from the rtrv-bip command of this good card. 2nd option : If you can’t find a card giving the power rating: - Map the O: drive \\sszna01.ssz.tekelec.com\eng_o_drive
- go to O:\eng\oam\<your gpl> - Open the file “assypwr.xx” - Search for the 2 first part of the P/N :870-xxxx - You will see the max rating power - Use it in your above Dos command (Note. You can search on another release older in case it is not found, e.g. card E5-E1T1 (DSU-CHG-FPB:PN="870-1873-01":MAX=646) is not found on R44.0) Here is an example: Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] C:\>q: Q:\>cd bin Q:\bin>bip bid -pw521 870-2372-15 B 10293456789 BID01,PN870-2372-15.B,SMEG.001,DS1993.45.C.10293456789,PW521,CS217 Q:\bin> Step 3 On the Eagle, enter the following command: Below command for a Card which does not have MAC address >chg-bip-rec:loc=xxxx:init=yes:data="BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB" B is the full data string received from Oracle TAC. Must be enclosed in “ “ (quotes.) x is the card location. Below command for a Card which does have MAC address >chg-bip-rec:loc=xxxx:data=”BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB”
B is the full data string from the DOS command. Must be enclosed in “ “ (quotes.) Here is an example: > chg-bip-rec:loc=6103:data="BID01,PN870-206x-01.J,xxxx.xxx,DS2004.xx.x.1020xxxxxxx,PWxxx,CSxxx":init=yes Command Accepted - Processing stpclli 04-09-30 16:32:36 EST EAGLE 30.0.1-48.29.1 Command entered at terminal #9. stpclli 04-09-30 16:32:39 EST EAGLE 30.0.1-48.29.1
Here is an example for MAC address card: > chg-bip-rec:loc=1211:data="xxxxx,PN870-2372-1x.A,xxxx.xxx,xxxxxx.xx.x.xxxxxxxxxxxx,PWxxx,CSxxx" Command Accepted - Processing stpclli 04-09-30 16:32:36 EST EAGLE 30.0.1-48.29.1 Command entered at terminal #9. stpclli 04-09-30 16:32:39 EST EAGLE 30.0.1-48.29.1 Step 4 Do an init-card init-card:loc=xxxx (same loc as in the previous command)
