Information in this document applies to any platform.
About library not accessible messages from Networker, We only see the door open events which will always put the library offline for as long as the audit takes.This can take up to 30 minutes.
Symptoms
In the Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System connection drops for short periods of time and then comes back up.
Customer is using EMC Networker backup software and the backup software reports Juke box connection drop outs as per below error.
"Jukebox 'SL3000 ' Hardware Status of jukebox 'SL3000' Changed from 'cannot access the hardware '
and about 30 seconds later.
"Jukebox 'SL3000 ' Hardware Status of jukebox 'SL3000' Changed from 'cannot access the hardware ' to 'ready'
Changes
Cause
From the logs we are trying to load LTO5 tapes to LTO4 drives. This is an application media pool configuration issue.

1. Tapes are being found upside down. Either the tapes are upside down, or the label is upside down, or the robot is misreading the label.

Solution
- Reconfigure the media pools so that LTO5 tapes are not tried to be loaded to LTO4 drives!!!
-Tapes are being found upside down. Either the tapes are upside down, or the label is upside down, or the robot is misreading the label.
