Solution 2112413.1 : Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) - Sends Corrupted Answer Message Of Length=20 Bytes Causing Connection To Go Down [dsr#22311{Invalid Diameter message received}]

Symptoms

2 tier DSR (Software Version: 5.0.1_50.26.0) receives correctly formed Answer message but while routing this Answer message DSR sends only 20 byte of header causing connection to go down.
It is also noticed that 2 tier DSR (Software Version: 5.0.1_50.26.0) on receiving such malformed message routes it to peer node.

Following error messages are seen on DSR sending the malformed Answer message indicating Invalid Diameter Message Received and Semantic Error.

If the peer to which this Answer message is sent is a DSR (other than 5.0.1_50.26.0) then it reports following error in dsr logs and err logs indicating that connection is unavailable due to malformed message and Length=20bytes

Cause

This issue has been addressed under Bug# 22342941 and Bug# 22354413.

Solution

Bug# 22342941 and Bug# 22354413 are being worked by Engineering.

Upgrade to DSR 6.0 or later to fix this issue.
