Symptoms

After upgrading to Java Runtime Environment 8 update 71 serial storage redirection fails with the following message

Certificates does not conform to algorithm

Java Certificate Error

Cause

This issue is due to ILOM JAR file signatures on older platform, it is currently being investigated by Oracle engineering

Solution

On your Windows Desktop implement the following STEPs

(STEP 1) Open <JRE_HOME>\lib\security\java.security file.
e.g. C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_71\lib\security\java.security

(STEP 2) Comment out "jdk.tls.disabledAlgorithms"line

(STEP 3) Comment out "jdk.certpath.disabledAlgorithms"line

or remove "MD5" from the list

jdk.certpath.disabledAlgorithms=MD2, MD5, RSA keySize < 1024
e.g. jdk.certpath.disabledAlgorithms=MD2, RSA keySize < 1024
