Symptoms

Customer trying to upgrade their SBC to version SCZ7.2.0 MR-4 GA (Build 370)and the upgrade is failing.

There were many alarms and we can see that M00 +M01 stayed down :

Cause

Auto-neg was disabled for media interface which was causing the issue. Referred bugid - 22131845.

Solution

Went through the bug-db and KM and after comparing the logs.bootstrap files found the system is logging following errors :-

Feb 9 19:20:55.805 [CONFIG] (0) phy-interface [M00] Slot: 0 Port: 0 FIBER SFP fixed at 1000Mbs/full-duplex w/ Auto-negotiation enabled regardless of Phys-Intf configuration
Feb 9 19:20:55.805 [CONFIG] (0) phy-interface [M00] slot 0 port 0 is not available for the current platform
Feb 9 19:20:55.805 [CONFIG] (0) phy-interface [M01] Slot: 0 Port: 1 FIBER SFP fixed at 1000Mbs/full-duplex w/ Auto-negotiation enabled regardless of Phys-Intf configuration
Feb 9 19:20:55.805 [CONFIG] (0) phy-interface [M01] slot 0 port 1 is not available for the current platform

The above footprints is a known issue where if Auto-neg is disabled then the media interface doesn't come up
