Symptoms

L8500 Microcode Update in a Complex Fails.

Unable to Obtain the Required Lock.

Cause

Attempting to load code from multiple SLConsole sessions will result in the failure "Unable to Obtain the Required Lock" failures in the SLConsole.

Solution

When loading and activating microcode in an SL8500 complex, make sure only one SLConsole is attempting to load/activate code if the complex option is chosen.

Attempting to reactivate the prior version could get a lock error when trying to unpack the earlier version. Libraries running 6.0X and higher code support simultaneous Load/Unpack/Activate of microcode. Make sure your PC has the minimum required SLConsole version that supports the code you are loading. The recommended SLConsole is FRS-6.60 for all code versions.
