Single robot on the rail.. No opportunity for redundant bot to perform mounts or dismounts.

Symptoms

Robot initialization failed with multiples of the following events in the log snapshot all:

2016-01-15T10:39:05.244, 1.2.0.1.0, root, default, internal, 0, error, 3955, "Error from device Code: 512 - Robot can not go operational", Data=<response sequence="1643584" final="true"><command>initialize</command><result identifier="1"><resultStatus><resultSeverity>error</resultSeverity><resultCode>5017</resultCode><resultText><!|CDATA|DIRECTOR End of Rail Init: Init of grip or reach failed, cannot init, End of Text||></resultText><operationalState>512</operationalState></resultStatus><atEndOfRail>false</atEndOfRail></result></response>

FSC5017, 5017

Cause

The robot appears to be defective due to the 5017, "The range of motion on initialization is not within specification".

Solution

Replace the robot per the following KB's for either a SL8500 or SL3000.
