Solution

If there are occasional robotic failures at Slots 13 or 14 on Rail 4 of the Right Inner Wall, check the cable bundle that runs down the floor of the library. If improperly secured with the tie wraps to the floor, the connectors (especially the J406/J407 flat cables) can poke up through the holes in the bottom of the array. This can cause failures at Slot 14 due to seating issues and at slot 13 because the tape in slot 14 is sticking out.

Cause

Cabling Issue.

Solution

If there are occasional robotic failures at Slots 13 or 14 on Rail 4 of the Right Inner Wall, check the cable bundle that runs down the floor of the library. If improperly secured with the tie wraps to the floor, the connectors (especially the J406/J407 flat cables) can poke up through the holes in the bottom of the array. This can cause failures at Slot 14 due to seating issues and at slot 13 because the tape in slot 14 is sticking out.

Note: Do not make the tie wraps (cable ties) very tight. This has been shown to sometimes slowly pull apart the cable connections. Always leave some slack in the jumper cables as you tighten the cable ties.
