Symptoms

Invalid response received from library for request
Error: No session, session invalid, session not supplied. PLI authentication required

Cause

The ip address of the tape library cannot ping. FE tried to connect their laptop to isolate the problem.

Initial problem was due to customer connect to port 1A and also 2B was not configured correctly with missing ip address.

Solution

The fix was to configure port 2B on HBC card and to upgrade local SLC version to 6.51.
