Symptoms

When using Exalytics T5-8 server, the root file system is 100% full and files cannot be opened.

For example, when running "df -h" command, it shows the file system is full and ERROR: -bash: history: /var/log/hist/root/sh_history.20160120_070844.to.root.pts.3: cannot create: Disc quota exceeded.

Cause

Disk quota was exceeded and filesystem was at 100%.

Solution

Free up disc quota by removing old snapshots or other unnecessary logs and data.
