Symptoms

When attempting to mount the share on the client side, we are observing a delay (circa 25 seconds) before it is mounted, the second round of the mount command will mount the share immediately.

 

Cause

There are no DNS records configured for the ZFS storage heads.

 

Solution

Create the required DNS records (also reverse DNS records) ... NFS then starts working as expected.
