Applies to:

Sun StorageTek T10000 Tape Drive - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Sun StorageTek Virtual Op Panel - Version 2.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Customer or Field Engineer can not save the tape drive log in VOP first time.

Changes

 New install.

Cause

If you installed VOP in Windows 7, you must ensure that permissions for the tmp, ftptemp, and ID directories (located in the VOP installation directory) are set to allow the current user to write to these directories. The VOP application uses these directories for temporary space when transferring files. If permissions are not set correctly, then certain features (for example, retrieving dumps) will not be available.

Solution

To set permissions:

1. In Windows Explorer, locate the directory.
2. Right-click the directory and then select Properties.
3. Click the Security tab and select Edit.
4. Select the current user or users (Current User\Users) and then select Full control.
5. Click Apply.
6. Click OK.
7. Click OK again.
