When you say 'customer use lowest config for power supply' do you mean N+1? If so you need to say N+1 so there is no confusion.

Sorry for confuse. Customer use 2N config ( PDU1+PDU2) but they install wrong EM(Electronics Module) power supply to 23 and 24 ,The 2N config should 23 and 26. for drive power supply ,they only install to 6 and 7.only got power form PDU1.

Symptoms

All power supply related drive (power supply locations 4/5/6/7/8/9/10/11) are missing in SLC but we can see the LED of these power supplies are green and fans are working. We can see all drive trays have power but drives have no power.

HBT active LED not lit and CLI command status is OK.

The ceiling LED light on.

All LED of PUN card are normal and correct.

Changes

One drive tray power supply failure and all drive status changed to offline ,after reboot library ,the drive tray power supplies and drives are missing in SLConsole.

Cause

The customer uses the lowest configuration for power supplies. Once one power supply fails only one power supply is left in the library and this caused HBT card failure. The HBT didn't send signal to drive tray that provides power to drive.

Solution

1. Try to confirm if all location of drive power supplies missing in SLC （drive power supply are 4、5、6、7 related PDU1 and 8、9、10、11 related PDU2).

2. If only the driver power supplies related to one PDU missing, the PUF card is most suspected.

3. Check PUN card led status confirm PUN card is healthy.

4. If PUN card also good. check HBT card led status ,if active led light on after library reboot.

5. If HBT card active light off , even if status is OK check, with CLI command , replace HBT and reboot library.
