RLC and RLM have been replaced.
Firmware at 1501.

Symptoms

SL500 tape library is not functioning. We are not able to login via SLConsole. There is no movement in the robot assembly.

Library will not initialize.

There appears to be a lot of door open warnings. This is occurring over hours and not just minutes.

As the robot, RLC and RLM have been replaced my thought is there could be a problem with the door open switch that would prevent the init from completing.

Cause

Defective door switch.

Solution

Replaced the Door Switch & Face-plate with CAP & now problem has been solved.
