Cause

It is possible that an Improper replacement procedure happened and the steps in the ATR has not been followed correctly.

Another possibility is an HW related issue such as DOA ID board or bent pin while inserting the ID board into centerplane.

Solution

Please engage the Oracle Support Services Team by logging an SR.

The steps in How to Replace ID Board for Sun Fire 6800, E6900 Systems (Doc ID 1501610.1) must by done with a serial session via the serial console port of the main SC.

In the worse case a new Centerplane, SC and extra ID board are needed.

Note: the ID board can only be used once, meaning that once you insert into the slot and SC does not prompt for reprogramming of the ID board
the ID board cannot be reused/reprogrammed.

The complete steps are described into Sun Fire[TM] 3800, 4800, 4810, 6800, E4900, E6900: Centerplane/ID board configuration answers (Doc ID 1011939.1)
